African medicines regulation, in one place
What authorities are doing and what is being reported about it, gathered the way the register gathers regulatory actions. Two publishers and never a third: Drug Eye Africa, and the national authorities themselves, writing about their own countries under their own names.
Publishing? Drug Eye Africa editorial writes at /newsroom/write; an officer of a national authority publishes their own country’s news at /authority/publish. Both need a credential, and neither page is indexed.
The four levels
- Register entry — structured, no prose. The recorded decision that a record needs no writing
- Digest — 20–150 words: our summary of somebody else’s reporting, with their name on it and a link to them
- Brief — 40–400 words in our own voice, with human sign-off before publish
- Story — reporting: a cross-border pattern, a named company, a regulator’s failure
Where each item comes from
A record citation is a foreign key into the register — it cannot name a record we do not hold, because the database refuses. An authority publication or a media report is a link we cannot verify, stored in a different table and labelled as such on the page.
Nothing outside the register reaches a manufacturer profile. Those are built only from published regulator decisions, and a press report is not one.
For authorities
A named officer of a national regulator can publish their own country’s news here through the Authority Channel, under their authority’s name, with no editorial queue in front of it — the same standing a Tier 0 record gets, for the same reason. The page they write on, and how it works.
This is not the blog
Opinion by named members of the public lives at the blog, which is a separate claim with separate rules. Nothing a reader finds in the newsroom is an outsider’s view.
